Herbert Bascombe "H. B." Brown, Jr. 84, of 191 Moretz Lane, died Sunday, December 15, 2002, at Watauga Medical Center. Mr. Brown was born in Madison County, North Carolina on June 21, 1918. He was self-employed n various parts of the building trades, construction, salvage and a sawmill owner/opertor. He was a U. S. ARMY Veteran of W W 11.
Herbert was a pn of the late Herbert Bascombe Brown, Sr. and Trevia Cleo Silver Brown. His first wife, Nona Mae Phillips Brown; his second wife Bessie Gragg Moretz; and four sisters, Ethel Ester Brown, Minnie Belle Wilson, Robbie Lee Brown Arrowood and Duffa Elizabeth Brown Chandler preceded him in death.
Surviving is a son, Jerry Thomas Brown and his wife Jane, of St. Petersburg, Florida; two grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
December 17, 2002, Interment will be in West Memorial Park in Weaverville, Buncombe County, North Carolina.
