Funeral services are this Wednesday morning at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Alton for Mrs. Mary Hastert who passed away Sunday at the Orange City Hospital after an extended illness. Interment was at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Rosaries were recited Tuesday at 3 and 8 P.M. at the parish hall. Mrs. Hastert was a member of the Rosary Society.

The beloved mother, the former Mary Demuth, was born at David City, Nebraska, November 25, 1886, and was married at David City September 28, 1910. After their marriage they bought an attractive farm three miles south of Alton where their family grew up. Mr. John Hastert died in 1954 after which Mrs. Hastert moved to Alton.

She is survived by three sons and a daughter, Charles, James, Donald and Margaret. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. P. Reisdorff of David City, and a brother, Peter of Seattle, Washington.
