He was born about 1888.

WINCHESTER - E. Reed Able, 89, who resided at 550 W. Franklin Street, died early Tuesday morning at the hospital in Bloomington after a brief illness.

Born in Huntsville, he had lived most of his life in Randolph county. He was the retired president and director of the Randolph County Bank and was the former owner of the Ford Garage.

Mr. Abel had a 54-year perfect attendance at Rotary Club and had served as district governor of the organization.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and the Shriners.

His wife, Lucille, died in 1965.

Survivors include a son, Paul, of Muncie; a daughter, Mrs. Gene Lawlis of Bloomington; three sisters, Mrs. John Burgess, Fountain City, Mrs. George Brake, Franklin, Mrs. Ross Dean, West Lafayette; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be help at 1 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Garth Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 o,n, Thursday at the Walker Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
