Flora Bolen
CHERRY CREEK - Flora Bolen, 89, died Sunday, June 10, 2007, at the Community Hospice House in Verona. She was born Sept. 18, 1917, in Thaxton to the late Edward Hooker and Lillie Stephens. She was a member of the Cherry Creek Baptist Church and the church custodian for 42 years. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Cherry Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Benefield and Bro. Andy Russell officiating. Burial will be in the Cherry Creek Cemetery. Mortimer Funeral Home of Ecru is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include three sons, Lamar Bolen (Pat) and Therold Bolen (Dianne), both of Ecru, and Rickey Bolen (Dianne) of Myrtle; one sister, Ruth Grubbs of Pontotoc; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Bolen; four brothers, James Vernon Hooker, Morris Hooker, Evoy Booker and Jimmy Hooker; and three sisters, Bernice Bartley, Emmadine Sills and Nelda Long.
Pallbearers will be Brett Coker, Adam Coker, Reid Coker, Gregg Bolen, Marty Bolen, Randy Bolen and Tom Polk.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the church.
