Oscar Deaton had lived in Baylor County, Texas for many years until he left four years ago for Yemasee, South Carolina to take over a ranch there. He spent his boyhood days in Stephens County, Texas. In his late teens, he began work on the Davis Ranch in Throckmorton County, Texas. Later, he moved to Baylor County taking charge of the Hashknife Ranch, he was foreman for 15 years. He was faithful to every interest.
Survived by his wife; his father - W.M. Deaton; his brothers - Allen Deaton, Bob Deaton, Lon Deaton, Charles Deaton; half-brother - Jim Sellars; half-sister - Mrs. M.A. Ballard.
Oscar Deaton professed faith in Jesus in 1918. It was his request his wife moved back to Seymour and locate near her sister, Mrs. John Beyers.
Oscar Deaton married Miss Millie Brown on 13 January 1901 at Throckmorton, Texas.
