June Birchell Hadlock, age 95, passed away at the home of her daughter in Vernal, UT on Sunday, July 27, 2014.
June was born on February 25, 1919 in Vernal to John Caleb and Ida Rolfe Birchell. She was the youngest of five children. She was raised in Ballard, UT on the family homestead.
She married Charles Carl Hadlock in Vernal on October 13, 1937. They lived most of their married life in Vernal. They had 3 children, Douglas Carl, Terry J., and Sharon.
June work on the housekeeping crew for many years at the Uintah County Hospital. She was known for her beautiful baby quilts, hankies, and fur blankets "furries". She was an excellent cook and made the best pink popcorn balls for the kids. She always had a smile on her face and was kind to everyone.
The light of her life was her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Upon the death of her husband Charles "Chuck" on May 4, 1977, she faced the future alone with much determination, working hard, and taking care of herself until age 87. She has since lived with and been in the care of her daughter Sharon.
She is survived by her son Terry J. (Jean) Hadlock and her daughter Sharon H. Hacking. Her grandchildren Ronald Hadlock, June Hadlock, Collette Hadlock, Daniel Hadlock, Terry Lynn (Shanna) Hadlock, Lane (Kris) Hadlock, Todd (Debbie) Hadlock, Holly (Rick) Morton, Stacy Hadlock, Cory (Kim) Hacking, Sheri (Glen) Murray, Bruce (Diana) Hacking, and Brian (Kathy) Hacking. She has 34 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Delight Andrews, brothers Garnett, Don, and Jack; husband Charles, son Doug, son-in-law Lawrence "Larry" Johnson Hacking, and great-grandson Michael Lane Hadlock.
Funeral services were held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home 410 N. 800 W. Vernal. A viewing was held Thursday evening from 6-8 PM and Friday from 9:45 - 10:45 AM at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home prior to services.
Interment was in the Vernal Memorial Park.
