Alma (Bomgardner) Lutsch, 91, passed away September 11, 2014 at Grace Pointe. She was born on July 12, 1923 in Sandy, CO, near Walsenburg, to Lewis and Anna (Caudle) Hill. She was the third of 5 children. She grew up in Phippsburg, CO, attending school in a one room school house.

She married her childhood sweetheart, Newton Bomgardner on April 18, 1944 in Denver, CO. The couple had 5 children. Alma moved to Greeley in 1963. She owned and operated a dog grooming business for 20 years. She was an avid crocheter and quilter, stitching afghans and quilts for her children and a growing number of grand and great grandchildren. Several years after Newton Bomgardner’s death in 1986, she met and married Charles Lutsch in 1990.

Alma was a member of Sherwood Park Baptist Church. She enjoyed golfing, travel, Bingo, Blackhawk and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her 4 children, her brother, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Alma is preceded in death by both parents, her first husband, Newton Bomgardner; her second husband, Charles Lutsch; a brother, Edward Hill; sisters, Mildred Pidcock and Agnis Marie Hill; and an infant daughter.

A Wake/Celebration of Life will be held Friday at Alma’s home; 2523 15th Avenue, beginning at 4 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Sherwood Park Baptist Church; 3333 W. 16th Street. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens with a reception following at the church.
