US Federal Census Mortality Schedules:
Farmer, cause of death: scrofula. Lists death as August 1850, however the Memphis Papers record his death as Aug 1849.

In his will he directed that a family vault be erected at the family burial ground (Winchester Cemetery) where his uncle Thomas B. Murphy was laid to rest. The vault would be large enough to hold the bodies of his mother Sarah H. Leath, brother James T. Leath and his family. In addition he mentions the following:
a half-brother John H. Leath, of Sumner County TN.

Charles Boyce, his namesake and kinsman, a lad of the County of Calloway in Missouri. The Boyce family is also mentioned in the will of Sarah Leath, mother of Charles Leath. She indicates that Charles and John Boyce are the sons of R.C. Boyce and Asintha Ann Boyce of Calloway County Mo. Asintha Ann Boyce is the sister of Sarah Murphy Leath

Charles Gates, his namesake, the son of his friend S.M. Gates

Elizabeth M. and Josephine S. his cousins and the children of Thomas B. and Sarah J. Murphy. These people are listed in the will of Sarah H. Leath and live in Decatur Alabama.

James T. Leath Jr, son of his brother James T. Leath Sr.

Valeria Leath, daughter of his brother James T. Leath Sr.

Martha D. Leath, wife of his brother James T. Leath

His brother, James T. Leath was appointed executor
