KAYSVILIE — William Clark Barton, 67, of 149 S. 1st E., died Thursday evening in the South Davis Community Hospital in Bountiful of a heart ailment. Mr. Barton was born July 21, 1899, in Kaysville, a son of John William Edward and Mary Ann Clark Barton.
He was married to Alice E. Williams on June 14, 1922, in Kaysville. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Nov. 29, 1944. A lifelong resident of Kaysville, he was a retired superintendent of the Kaysville Canning Co. He was an active member of the Kaysville LDS Second Ward and was secretary of the High Priest Group of the ward and active in genealogy and temple work.
He graduated from Davis High School attended Henager Business College in Lake City.
For 10 years he was fire chief of Kaysville City.
Surviving are his widow of Kaysville, one son, Paul W. Barton, Bountiful; nine grand children, three sisters, Mrs. Lillie Smith Salt Lake City; Mrs. Clarence G. (Cynthia) Layton, Mrs. Mark (Alice) Gundlefinger, both of Kaysville.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday a 1 p.m. in the Kaysville Second Ward Chapel with Bishop Don Edwards officiating. Friends may call at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p. Burial In the Kaysville-Layton Memorial Park
