Services were held in Leydens chapel today at 3:30 p.m. for Egbert Wallace Clarke, 73, who died Tuesday in the home of his son, Fred, in New Westminster, B.C. Rev. C.D. Powell officiated and burial followed in the family plot, Burnsland cemetery.
Born in Lake City, Minn., Mr. Clarke came to the Granum district in 1902. He farmed there until 1937, when he retired and moved to Sylvan Lake, moving to New Westminster in 1942.
His wife, Josephine, died in Sylvan Lake in October, 1942, and a son, Guy, died in Grande Prairie in May, 1944.
He is survived by two sons, Harold, Claresholm; Fred, New Westminster; five daughters, Della, Vancouver; Mrs. M.R. Smith, 2140 16th St. W., Calgary; Mrs. M. Orobka, Windsor, Ont.; Mina, Vancouver; Mrs. A. Bertiotti, Lethbridge; two sisters, Mrs. J.W. Morrow, Victoria; Mrs. Ethel Crabb, Lethbridge; one brother, Jess, Calgary.
