Sara (Hulsey) Hamilton, 86, widow of John W. Hamilton, died Saturday, September 13, 2014 at NHC of Greenwood.

Born in Honea Path, January 4, 1928, she was a daughter of the late William Clifton and Grace (Ogilvie) Hulsey.

A graduate of Greenwood High School, Mrs. Hamilton was a long time member of Beulah Baptist Church where she was a member, former teacher and treasurer of the Willie Miller Sunday School Class.

Surviving are a daughter, Janet (Dennis) Murphy of Greenwood; three sons, John W. 'Sonny' (Judie) Hamilton, Jr., of Moore, George C. 'Skip' (Caroline) Hamilton of Jacksonville, FL and C. Douglas (Sadie) Hamilton of Greenwood; two sisters, Jean H. Strickland and Jackie H. Reese, both of Greenwood; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hamilton was predeceased by a brother, William C. 'Billy' Hulsey, Jr. and two sisters, Dot H. Bell and Priscilla Johnson.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Garrick and Rev. David Cobb officiating. Entombment was in Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers were grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

The family receiveed friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Tuesday afternoon.

The family expressed their appreciation to the staff of National Healthcare of Greenwood and Caris Hospice for their loving, sensitive care over the past several months.

Memorials could be made to Beulah Baptist Church, 2054 Hwy. 72 E. Abbeville, SC 29620.
