Funeral services will be Friday, September 5, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Zion Luthern Church. Officiating will be Rev. Kenneth Bersche. Interment will be held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Gene was born Tuesday, November 28, 1939 in Vernon, Texas; he was the son of the late E.A. Woolf and the late Edna Alene Noack Woolf. He married Bettye Lehman on November 25, 1962 in Lockett, TX she preceded him in death on August 22, 2001. He later married Joyce Richie on February 16, 2001 in Vernon, TX. He had lived all of his life in Vernon He had been a farmer all of his life. He was in the Army National Guard 1959 to 1961 in the artillery. He was a member of American Legion, VFW in Vernon. He was a member of Vernon High School Band Booster Club, Past President of Farm Bureau, Farm Bureau State Pioneer Award, and Vernon Farmers Market Onion King of Wilbarger County. He attended Texas Tech and Midwestern State University. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church Elder of the Church, Building & Grounds Committee Zion BBQ. He was very active in all church actives.
