Graveside services for Sammy W.Hatcher,loving son,husband,father,grandfather and great-grandfather,will be held on Tuesday,August 26,2014,at 1:00p.m.at Mississippi Veteran Cemetery, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr.Hatcher,82,of Meridian passed away on Wednesday,August 20,2014,at Forest Hill Nursing Center in Jackson,Mississippi.

Mr.Hatcher joined the United States Air Force in 1951 and retired as a Master Sergeant after twenty-three years of service.He served in Japan during the occupation,the Korean War,Vietnam War and in Germany.After retirement from the Air Force,he went to work at St.Joseph's Hospital (which is no where Alliance Health Center is located)for twenty-two years and retired from there also.

He was a member of Lauderdale United Methodist Church in Lauderdale,Mississippi

Survivors include his wife,Sally Hatcher of Meridian;son,Wayne Hatcher and wife Teri of Buies Creek,North Carolina;step-daughters,Lana Thompson and husband Art of Flora,Mississippi, Marilee Wells and husband Vernon of Haltom City,Texas,and Chere Freeman of Victoria,Texas; step-sons,Rick Hasselle and wife Nannette of Meridian and Bill Hasselle Jr.of Meridian;grandchildren,Heather Hafer,Phillip Hatcher,Jennifer Hatcher and Jessica Hatcher; numerous step-grandchildren;and great-grandchild,Preston Hatcher;nephew,Ronnie Hatcher and Niece Vickie Stewart.

He was preceded in death by his parents,Printess and Elsie Hatcher and brother,Jack Hatcher.
