Funeral services for Barbara Wilson Carnes, 77 of Elkhart, will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Bailey & Foster Chapel, with Bro. Jack Smith, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Strong Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine. Mrs. Carnes passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014, in Jacksonville. She was born July 1, 1937 in Elkhart, to Roy and Lura Gray Wilson. She retired from Elkhart ISD after 31 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church Elkhart. Mrs. Carnes was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mitchell Carnes in 2013 and an infant son Michael Carnes.
