Mrs. Cupp passed away on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Mary Jo Mueller was born on April 21, 1931, the third daughter of Joseph D. Mueller and Mary A. Hocker Mueller. She grew up and attended school in the Ballinger area.

On Jan. 20, 1951, she married Dan "Shorty" Cupp in Runnels County and they were blessed with three children. Mary Jo had been a seamstress for Sidran Inc. for many years and later worked for Shaw's Laundry. She was a great friend to many and loved doing things for others while never expecting or wanting anything in return. Her friends could always count on her to listen and offer her support. Mary Jo's favorite pastime was crocheting, working word puzzles and watching old western movies. She had been a resident of Brownwood since 1951, moving here from Ballinger.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Martha Ann Cupp of Brownwood; son, Gerald "Cuppy" Cupp and wife LeaAnne of Brownwood; sister, Frances Walker of Kentucky; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Dan "Shorty" Cupp in January 1996; one daughter, Barbara Alice Wild in 2003; parents, Joseph and Mary Mueller; one sister, Sylvia Kresta; and a granddaughter, Melissa Jo Adams.
