ALFRED J. FILIPPELLI
Alfred J. Filippelli, 70, of Woodlawn Avenue, died Friday (Nov. 20, 1998) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness.
A Niagara Falls native, Filippelli graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952.
Filippelli worked 39 years at what is now Occidental Chemical Corp., retiring in 1987, when he was a shift foreman in Department F-28.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
He enjoyed gardening, and was described by his family as a good handyman.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, the former Theresa Valentino; his mother, Adeline; two sons, James C. and Jeffrey P.; and a sister, Theresa Marasco of the Town of Niagara.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 2486 Grand Ave.
Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery Mausoleum.
