Myldred Louise Gibson, 96, of Centralia, Mo., died at 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014, in her home, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be Monday, September 15, 2014, at 10 a.m., until the time of service. The visitation will take place at the Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2014, at the Grand View Funeral Home. Pastor David Barnett will officiate. Burial will follow at the Grand View Burial Park.

Myldred was born on July 19, 1918. She was born to Tilden and Molly Eades Moon, but was adopted by Bert and Annie Clay at age 1 after her mother passed away. She was married to Paul Luther Gibson on December 5, 1939.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one daughter, Gloria Jean Conley; and two grandchildren, Mary Louise Dulle and Craig Conley.

Myldred is survived by two daughters, Millicent Smith of Centralia, Mo., and Louise Rouchka of Sedalia, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, Paula Thurmond, Lisa Barnett, Clarice Rogers, Stacey Million, Matthew Smith, Sarah Rouchka, Eric Rouchka, Susan Rouchka, Brad Conley, Jeana Green, and Tamara Whittaker; along with 29 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brad Conley, Eric Rouchka, Matthew Smith, Jim Thurmond, Harvey Million, and Nathan Crouse. Honorary pallbearers are David Barnett, James Rogers, and Paul Dulle.

After her adoption at age 1, Myldred grew up in Leadwood, Mo. During her time there she graduated from Leadwood High School and was a member of the Leadwood Methodist Church. In 1958, Myldred and Paul moved to Hannibal, and became members of Arch Street Methodist Church. During her time in Hannibal Myldred worked as a hairdresser for eight years, but then gave up working in order to be a homemaker.

Myldred will greatly missed by her family and friends.
