On August 24, 2014, Annie Mae Armstrong Arender left this earth to live with the Lord. She was born December 1, 1934 in Richton, MS. At the age of five she was adopted into the home of a wonderful Christian family, Grady and Eula Armstrong of Columbia, MS. Mrs. Arender was a devoted wife, amazing mother and dedicated Christian. She loved gardening, cooking, playing the piano and spending time with her family. All who knew her were blessed by her sweet spirit and servant’s heart. She lived her life with simplicity and grace and left it in the same manner.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Floyd Arender, of 60 years; two daughters, Sandra Janean Ashley and Rosalind Aleyce Dixon; one brother, Bobby Armstrong; grandchildren, Joshua Arender, Whitney Baker, Justin Arender, Joel Arender, Wesley Ashley, Bailey Taylor, Jon Arender and Benjamin Dixon; great-grandchildren, Ethan Chand, Lakin Arender, Presley Arender, Lauren Arender, Olivia Baker, Slater Arender, Laina Arender, Carrington Grace Taylor and Lacie Arender; step-grandchildren, Kate and Bella Baker;as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son, Floyd Duane Arender and her parents, Grady and Eula Armstrong.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at 12 noon at Mineral Springs Baptist Church with visitation starting at 10:30am. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee will be in charge of arrangements.

The family wants to thank everyone for their prayers and encouragement during this time and throughout Mrs. Arender’s sickness. Also, we want to thank Rolling Acres Nursing Home and all of their employees for the quality care they gave our loved one.
