Leslie Witt services set Thursday


FRANKLIN -- Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Flinn -Maguire Funeral Home for Leslie D. [sic] Witt, 71, who died Tuesday morning at Johnson county Memorial Hospital. He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and had been ill four days.

The Rev. Orval Fair will officiate at the rites and friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening and until time of services.

Mr. Witt was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the American Legion, the World War I barracks, 351, and the Forty and Eight.

He was born September 11, 1898 at Liberty, Kentucky, the son of the late Samuel G., and Sally Bell Witt. He was married to Laura Ethel Goode in 1919, and she died in 1951.

Surviving are five children, Clifton and Norman Witt, Mrs. Helen Wood, Mrs. Frances Ferguson, and Mrs. Betty Morris, all of Franklin; 16 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Burial will be at Greenlawn cemetery.

Indiana State Board of Health Certificate of Death No. 66-024964 for Franklin, Johnson County records Leslie G. Witt, white male, age 71y, a retired florist, and widowed, died about 7 a.m. on July 19, 1966 at Johnson County Memorial Hospital due to "Massive Cerebral Occlusion." He was the son of Samuel Green Witt, and Sally Bell. The informant was Mrs. Helen Ward of Franklin, his daughter. Burial was at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, on July 21, 1966, Walker Maguire of Franklin, Funeral Director.
