Wilma (Van Dam) Vanden Bosch, 91, of Holland, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 9, 2014.

Wilma was born July 10, 1923, to Obbie and Catherine (Brandt) Van Dam. Wilma graduated from college and became a missionary teacher for 14 years at Zuni Christian School. Wilma moved to teach in Flint Christian School and there met John P. Vanden Bosch. Wilma and John married in 1970 and sadly, John preceded her in death in 1971. Wilma then worked for CRC Home Missions until her retirement. She became a member of Calvary Christian Reformed Church where she served as a lay shepherd and Stephen's minister. Wilma also volunteered for the Crossroads Prison Ministries. She was also preceded in death by siblings Karoline, Oscar, niece and nephew Cliff Essink, Sharon Essink-VanderKooi, sister and brother-in-law Angeline and Willis Essink.

She is survived by her brother Kenneth (Lucille) Van Dam of Oakland, nieces and nephews: Larry (Pat) Van Dam, Yvonne (George) Smith, Wanda Van Dam, Arla (Randy) Spaman, Wayne (Julie) Essink, Isla (Dale) Compagner; her step-children Marilyn VandenBosch McGovern, Judy (Ric deceased) Richter, Charles and (Alpha) VandenBosch and Donald VandenBosch(deceased); 8 step-grandchildren, many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service to honor Wilma will be held at 11:00 am, Friday at Calvary Christian Reformed Church, 400 Beeline Road, Holland 49424. Visitation is 5-7 pm, Thursday at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th Street. Interment will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Zuni Christian School.
