George, a confirmed bachelor, was married sometime after 1930 to Ione Alma Donovan (1912-2000), d/o Whitelaw Reid Donovan & Alma Henrietta Weinmann. Their only child Juanita Ione Peters was born posthumously on 19 Jun 1937 in New Orleans.
After George's death, his siblings contested his estate, unsuccessfully. Ione was remarried before 1940 to Samuel Anthony Petrie (1915-2007) and gave Juanita a brother, Roy G Petrie.
