Dora L. “Peggy” Ballinger 80 of Excelsior Springs Mo died Sunday Sept. 7, 2014 at a health care facility. Born on March 1, 1934 in Elmira Mo to William E. and Dora E. (Daniels) St. John.
She was a high school graduate and a member of the Elmira Baptist Church. Dora was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader and worked as a cashier for many years at Wal-Mart.
On June 4, 1952 she married Howard “Bud” E. Ballinger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Infant daughter Sandra Ballinger; son Danny Ballinger and 11 siblings.
Survivors include her daughter Sharon (Tim) Lindsey of Lawson MO; son Howard E. (Sherry) Ballinger Jr.; son Brent L.(Lisa) Ballinger of Cutnshoot Texas; daughter –in-law Karen Ballinger of Smithville MO; brother Bill (Valda) St. John; Sister in law Marilyn St. John; 2Brother in laws Harvey (Sue) Ballinger and Ronald Glenn ( Barb) Ballinger. 7 grandchildren and 9 great grand children.
Funeral service will be held 11:00AM Thursday Sept. 11, 2014 at the Elmira Baptist Church Elmira MO. Interment will be in the Lawson Cemetery, Lawson MO. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church. The family suggests memorial gifts to the Church. Arrangements Bailey & Cox Funeral Home Lathrop MO.
