David Harris was married on April 11, 1880, to Miss Jennie Slaughter, daughter of Rev. G. W. Slaughter. She is a beautiful and accomplished lady, having received her education at the Normal School, at Emporia, Kansas; at the Lasell Seminary, Auburndale, Massachusetts, and at the Female Institute of Staunton, Virginia. She is a true companion and helpmeet to her husband and presides over their home at Palo Pinto with remarkable grace and rare skill. Their six children are, Dottie May, Macy Slaughter, Sally Bell, Columbus Webb, Millie Frances, and D. C., the baby.
