They eventually settled in Farmington Utah, although John Gleason married twice more and he settled in Pleasant Grove.
The 1870 census indicates that Desdemona and her mother, Phoebe Chase, were living in the household of Ephraim and Louisa McGlaughlin in the Salt Lake City Thirteenth Ward. Louisa was Phoebe's daughter and Desdemona's sister.
