Mrs. Elvira Cox passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. A. Flood, on Wednesday evening, May 16, at 9 o'clock, after five month's illness from throat trouble, aged 80 years, 3 months and 25 days.
Elvira Baisden was born in Logan County, Virginia, January 21, 1837. She moved with her parents to Wayne County, Va., when a child where she grew to womanhood and was married to Jerimiah Cox Nov 22, 1855.
Seven children were born to this union, four sons and three daughters.

The children are Mrs. J. D. Stith, Mrs. E. A. Flood, Mrs. J. W. Cofield, B. B. and W. H. Cox of this village; J. S. Cox of Byers, Colo., and E. H. Cox of Benkelman, Neb.
After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Cox resided at Louisa, Ky., until 1865 when they came to Minnesota settling on a homestead in Wright county. They lived on the homestead until 1883; when they moved to Lorraine, Mo., where they resided until 1898, when they removed to this village where several of their children resided.
Mr. and Mrs. Cox celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home in this village Nov. 22, 1905 when all of their children and grand-children were present.
The ancestors of the deceased were colonial settlers of Virginia, coming from England. Her grandfather, the late Edward Baisden, Sr., served as a solider during the full term of the Revolutionary war. Her father, the late Edward Baisden, Jr., and three of her brothers, James, John and Elias enlisted at the beginning of the Civil war in the union army and served until the close of the war.
She was a charter member of the W. R. C. of this place and was a very active member. She until with the Baptist church when a young girl and has always lived up to the principles of a true christian.
Funeral services were held Friday at 3:30 p. m. from the Congregational church, Rev. H. T. Krousey of Burtrum officiating. The body was laid to rest in Spring Brook cemetery, beside that of her husband.

I find no Logan County in VA, it may have been changed and was part of West Virginia at the time.

Miss Mae Cox came home from Little Falls Thursday to attend the funeral of her grandmother.

Mrs. Chas. Glantz and son Forest of Little Falls arrived Friday to attend the funeral of Grandma Cox.
