Janet Marie (Baker) Robinson Thorpe, daughter of Alvin “Alvi” Lorraine and Velma Irene (Morris) Baker, was born in Vici, OK on June 10, 1956. She passed from this life in Oklahoma City, OK on October 9, 2018 at the age of 62 years.

Janet attended grade school and high school at Vici Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1974. Janet married Dennis “Denny” Robinson on September 2, 1999 in Chickasaw, OK. They remained married until Denny’s death on September 12, 2002.

Janet and her friend Liona were at the Muskogee renaissance fair, when they ran upon a nasty ol’ Viking. That Viking was to be Janet’s husband, friend, and fellow merchant for the next 15 years- Stan Thorpe. At this time of her life she was a part of the Viking Merchant Renaissance Crew. She and Stan traveled from Florida to the Great Lakes, and many kingdoms in between, where her training at Alvi Baker’s Furniture Store, outfitted her for a fine career. Aunt Joan always said, "Stan carried her off to the circus.” The duo was married on May 20th, 2018, in Oklahoma City, OK. Janet and Stan resided in Oklahoma City, where Janet and her mother-in-law, Joyce, formed a special bond. During this time of her life, she worked as a 7/11 clerk in Oklahoma City. Now she has returned to the Brethren and on to be with God.

Janet enjoyed crafts, frogs, and her kitties; but the most important thing to her was family. She attended the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn.

Preceding Janet in death are her parents Alvi and Velma Baker; sister Anita Joan Baker; her husband Denny Robinson; uncles Norman, Arthur, Elmer, Alvin, and Connie; and aunts Ruth, Alma, Thelma, and Joan. Janet is survived by her husband Stan Thorpe of the home; mother-in-law Joyce Thorpe of Oklahoma City, OK; uncle Freddie Morris of Vici, OK; uncle Leroy Morris of Taloga, OK; and a host of loved ones and friends.
