Annie Dean Cox, 89, of Leesburg, GA, died October 19, 2013 at Palmyra Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 5:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Melvin Slappey will officiate. A private family interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery.

A native of Jacksonville, FL, born to the late William H. Ramsey, Sr. and Ida Bell Ramsey Haynes, Mrs. Cox had resided in Albany, GA most of her life before moving to Leesburg, GA seven years ago. She was employed with the Salvation Army for thirty years and was a member of the Kinchafoonee Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, James Edward (Lisa) Cox of Lee County, GA, Homer Lee Cox of Columbia, SC and William E. (Lynn) Cox of Albany, GA, two sisters, Frances Orton and Betty Slaughter both of Leesburg, GA, a brother, Lamar (Delores) Ramsey of Dallas, GA, ten grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Cox, her daughter, Shirley Jean Cox, a brother, W. H. Hanson, Jr. and two sisters, Doris Cox and Nell Stolze.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at Mathews Funeral Home.
