MAURICE – Carl C. Maurice of Remsen, N. Y., in the Rome Hospital, on Sunday, Dec. 20, 1953, age 29 years. Funeral services will be held at the Pritchard funeral Home at Holland Patent on Wednesday, Dec.23, at 2 o'clock. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday 9tonight) from 7 to 9 and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7n to 9 p.m. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Barneveld, where full military services will be conducted. Friends are respectfully invited.

CARL C. MAURICE

Carl C. Maurice, 29, Remsen who was killed Sunday morning in an auto crash, was a native of Barneveld.

He was born Jan. 29, 1924, a son of Clifford M. and Jennie wheeler Maurice. He was a graduate of Cazenovia Central School.

On April 12, 1947, he married the former Geraldine O'Connor of Barneveld. The ceremony was performed at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Holland Patent, by the Rev. Joseph M. Vaughn.

A veteran of World War II, he enlisted in the Army in Syracuse in November, 1942, and served with the Signal corps in the ETO. He was discharged in April, 1946. He was a member of the Leon R. Roberts Post, American Legion, Holland Patent.

Following his discharge from the Service he served for two years as a state trooper, working out of Oneida Barracks. Since his resignation from that post he had been employed as a safety inspector at the Rome Manufacturing Co.

Surviving besides his widow and parents are one daughter, Carol Ann, and a son, Michael Clifford at home; one sister, Mrs. C. E., Walburgh, Pulaski; a brother, Albert T. Maurice, Remsen; his maternal grandfather, Albert C. Wheeler, South Trenton, and several aunts, uncle's nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at the Pritchard funeral home, Holland Patent, on Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Ernest Bragg, pastor of the Remsen Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barneveld, where full military rites will be accorded.
