Reid John Fender of Sparta, NC died Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta, NC.
He was born in Alleghany County to the late John Sumner and Sarah Cheek Fender.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Annie Smith Fender; brothers, Glenn, Jim, Hurley, Mack, Porter, Arville, Earl and Troy Fender; sister, Bertha Moxley.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law; one daughter and son-in-law; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 30, 2011 at the Grandview Memorial Chapel. Internment will follow in the Crab Creek Cemetery in Ennice with full Masonic graveside rites conducted by Sparta Masonic Lodge #423.
