Marilyn M. Beckmeier, 59, of Effingham, formerly of Shobonier, died 3:10 a.m. Tuesday (March 23, 2004) in Lakeland Health Care Center, Effingham.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Shobonier. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until services in the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pagel Funeral Home, St. Peter, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: American Cancer Society, St. Paul Lutheran Church or St. John Lutheran Church, Effingham.

Ms. Beckmeier was born May 24, 1944, in Vandalia, the daughter of Wilmer H. and Hilda Bergman Beckmeier. She was baptized in St. Paul Lutheran Church by Pastor Petzoldt and was confirmed in 1958 by Pastor Wissman. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She graduated from Vandalia High School in 1962.

Surviving are her niece, --- of Springfield, Mo.; aunts, --- of St. Peter; --- of Vandalia; --- of St. Paul; --- of Vandalia; uncle, --- of St. Peter; special friends, --- and family of Effingham; and a host of cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Roger Beckmeier.
