Roy Harrison Ball, 97, of Bevier, formerly of Clarence, MO, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at the Samaritan Hospital in Macon, MO

Harrison was born on October 12, 1916, in Ethel, MO, the son of James W. and Edna Frances (Cohoon) Ball. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was united in marriage to Lucille Biswell on September 21, 1939, in New Cambria, MO. She preceded him in death on July 8, 1977. He later married Naomi Lee Whiles on July 18, 1988 in Kirksville, MO. She also preceded him in death on February 14, 2004. Harrison was a member of the Church of God Holiness in Macon. He was a minister for many decades, and also worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and as a custodian for the Ethel School. Harrison enjoyed gardening, drawing, woodworking, and St. Louis Cardinal Baseball.

He is survived by two grandchildren, Justin Templeton, Shelly Garcia; great grandchildren, Samantha Templeton, Michael Templeton, Christina Templeton, Elexa Templeton, Natassia Garcia, Esteban Garcia; great-great grandchildren, Xavier Sanders, Gabriel Templeton, Esteban Garcia, Ethan Garcia, and Emma Garcia and several nieces and nephews.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; children, Roy Ball, Jr and Carol Frances Templeton; one grandson, Troy Templeton; one great grandson, Anthony Templeton; four brothers, Finis Ball, Carl Ball, Jr., George Earl Ball, Donald Lee Ball and one sister Freda Grable.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 28, 2014, at 11:30 am at the Bell Cemetery west of Ethel, MO. Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 10 to 11 am at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Bevier, MO. Memorials can be made to the Bell Cemetery.
