OBITUARY---MR. LOUIS BURR
The recent death of Mr Louis Burr removes a well known former resident of the North Eastern district. The late Mr Burr, known to many friends as 'Teddy,' was a returned digger from the 1914-18 war, and was a sapper in the 3rd Tunnelling Company. He went right through the campaign,and was gassed twice and wounded. Prior to enlistment he was a miner, and worked on the Tasmania mine at Beaconsfield, Lefroy and Anchor mine at Lottah. On his return from the war he relinquished mining, and engaged in farming operations at Ringarooma. On account of ill health, he eventually retired, and left for Kayena, West Tamar. where he died. He was a son of the late Jane and Albert Burr, Lefroy, and has three brothers and three sisters living, also four sons and a daughter. His wife died about 18 years ago. The burial took place at Carr Villa cemetery.
