Uncle Don entered the US Army as Private 1st class in Mar 30, 1953 to Nov 4, 1954, and served in 836th Signal Company (Radio Relay VHF), Fort Lewis Base, WA.

Uncle Don received the National Defense Service Medal for serving during the Korean War.

My recollection of my uncle was he loved to laugh and had an infectious laugh. He had a business working on old radios and TV's and also had an Automotive Repair business in West Seattle and Vashon Island.

He loved the old country and bluegrass music and would have us sing along with him in his Winnebago motorhome going down the road.

Uncle Don loved his dogs. The first one I remember, Dutchess, to Ginger, and at one point living in a school bus in Roy, WA with 7 dogs. He made bunk beds for them all on the bus. He loved to take his dogs to the beach too.

Uncle Don taught me how to fish when I was a kid.

Uncle Don never married or had any kids.
