L.A. Stonecipher Dies at Cravat
Louis Alva Stonecipher, a farmer, died at 7:40 pm Christmas Day at his home in Cravat. His age was 83 years, one month and 25 days.
Mr. Stonecipher was born October 30, 1865 in Washington county, the son of James and Margaret (Breeze) Stonecipher.
On October 13, 1887, he was married to Maggie Baldridge, who preceded him in death. In 1907 he was married to Ollie Ferguson, who survives.
Mr. Stonecipher was a member of the Gilead Methodist church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm at the Gilead church, with the Rev. Carl Davis officiating and burial will be in Gilead cemetery.
The body will remain at the family home, where friends may call.
Mr. Stonecipher is survived by his wife, Ollie; two daughters, Mrs. Fern Owens of Walnut Hill and Mrs. Neva Germann of Woodlawn; three brothers, Sylvester and Earl Stonecipher of Centralia and Jake Stonecipher of Irvington; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Fouts of Centralia and Mrs. Julia Porter of Pocatella, idaho; and give grandchildren and two great granchildren.
