MONTICELLO—Final rites for Mrs. Ella Sparks, 78, former resident here, and widow of Jesse Sparks will be at 1:30 Thursday at the Miller funeral home. The Reverend D. Lester Niles will officiate and burial will be in Riverview cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
Her death occurred Monday at a nursing home in Detroit, after a lingering illness.
Born in Illinois April 1, 1878, she spent most of her life in this area. After his death in 1949 she went to Detroit to make her home with her children.
Surviving children are: Mrs. Bess Dickman, Detroit; Kenneth Hayes, Detroit; Mrs. Wanda Keller, Plymouth; Cedric Sparks, Sharpsville; Mrs. Gwendolyn Ohman, Gary;, three sisters; Mrs. Gertie Smoker, of here; Mrs. Cora Baldy, Plymouth; Mrs. Belle Ready, Sun Valley, Calif.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Ora Ella DeMoss was born in Livington Co, IL to Alexander and Harriet (O'Neil) DeMoss. Ora married William Spir Crumbaker on September 9, 1896. They had 3 children before William died in 1904; Bessie, Mamie and Chester.
Ora married William Clark Hayes on Dec 22, 1906 and they had a son Kenneth before they were separated.
On Aug 11, 1914 Ora married Jesse Sparks, but they had no children together although he had 2 children Gwendolene and Cedric with his first wife Corda Kinnex.
