Alverder V. Cole, 84, formerly of Peach Bottom, died Saturday evening at Colonial Care Retirement Community, Denver, after a long illness.

She was the wife of Lee S. Cole, who died in 1980.

Born in Damascus, Va., she was a daughter of the late James and Luvici Edmiston.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Cole was a nurse at Conestoga View and was an active volunteer with the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Lancaster.

She enjoyed crafts and was an avid bingo player.

Surviving are two sons, a daughter, eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers.
