William Joseph Manasco Nov. 22, 1926 - Feb. 28, 2006 "Bill" was born in Cleburne, Texas and passed away after a long illness in Bakersfield, California. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre, including the Phillipine Islands. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and a half sister. He loved to fish and camp out with his family and was an avid boater and RV'er. He worked many years in the oil fields of Kern County as a roughneck and driller. He was a 3rd degree of the Scottish Rite. Bill leaves behind the love of his life, Virginia Kathryn, his wife of 58 years, son Joe Manasco and wife Lorena, daughter Liz Schuck and husband Tom, five grandchildren: Tom Schuck, Kathleen Petersen, Kim McMicken, Cheryl Krohn and Mike Manasco. Eight great grandchildren and a half sister. The family would like to express their thanks to the ICU staff at Memorial Hospital for their efforts and compassion. Masonic graveside services will be held Monday, March 6, 2006, 2:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park. No visitation is scheduled. Legacy.com
