SAVANNAH - Ray Jeter, 72, truck driver, died Tuesday at his home after a heart attack. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Shackelford Funeral Home in Savannah with burial in Memory Gardens of Hardin County near Savannah. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Jeter, the widower of Ruth Jeter, leaves a daughter, Mellony Wilson of Bells; a son, Holly Jeter of Memphis; two brothers, Arnold Jeter of Savannah and W. Jay Jeter of Benton, Ky.; three half-sisters, Jean Carroll of Indiana, Sue Baker of Arkansas and Elizabeth Ann Brown of Adamsville; a half-brother, Claude Jeter of Indiana, and a grandchild.
