Pat's mom and dad died within 2 years of each other when he and his 2 brothers and 1 sister were young. It was during the Great Depression and food rationing so his mother's family of single and married sisters took in one child each.

At age 20, Pat served overseas in the RCAF (WWII) as a pilot.
He was credited with two tours and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross - D.F.C.

At age 30 in 1952, he graduated from UBC with a BA and a BSP. His career in pharmacy included owner/manager of four drugstores, two of which he started in District 69. Flynn's Drug (now Shoppers Drug) and Qualicum Prescriptions (Fern Road).

Pat was predeceased by his father Michael (1930) and his mother Nancy Joyce - nee Shove (1932), also his brothers Tom and Bill, and sister Betty.

Pat's love of family, fishing and horses filled his life. His friendly smile, cheerful wit and courage gave us all inspiration. Remembered with pride and love.
