William 'Bill' Wessley Clanton, 82, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, in Klamath Falls, Ore., with family by his side.

Bill was born in San Jose, Calif., Sept. 16, 1931. Bill was raised in San Jose, while graduating from Abraham Lincoln High School.

He married Edwina Yvonne Teller, Sept. 5, 1950 in Tracy, Calif. Bill received his associate degree at San Jose City College. He was a career firefighter and law enforcement officer in Santa Clara County Central Fire Protection District and served as a law enforcement officer in Santa Clara, Lassen and Modoc counties and then as a ranger at the Lava Beds National Monument. Bill's hobbies were ranching and socializing with many friends.

Bill is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, his son, and two grandchildren.

In 2012, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Edwina Clanton.
