Funeral services for Mrs. J. D. Attkisson, 79 a resident of Grand Saline for the past 52 years were held at 10 am Friday at Main street Baptist Church.
Rev James Dixon, Rev. Howard Conatser, Rev. Harold Spann officiated.
Burial water at Woodside Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Attkisson died Wednesday morning February 11, 1959 following a long illness. She was born in Tennessee to F.W. Carroll and Sallie ( Seagraves) Carroll

Survivors include three sons, Wesley and Roy Attkisson, both if Grand Saline, and Leonard Attkisson of Sierra Vista, Arizona; six daughters, Mrs. Sally Harris, Mrs. Annie King, Mrs. Willie Joslin, Mrs. Maxell Flora, Mrs Grace Reed, all of Grand Saline, Tx and Mrs. Inez Madden, of Sheveport, La.two brothers Clarence Carroll of San Bernardino, Cal., Comer Carroll of Borger; 25 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Dempsey White, John Boyles, WylieThimas, Carl King, and Bo White.
