JAMES E SHECKEL New Albany
James E Sheckel, 85, died at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 16 at Floyd County Hospital. He was a native of Mauckport, son of John and Purvy Shireman Shickles and had lived in Floyd County for the last 35 years.
He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include a brother, Griff Sheckel, New Albany.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday at Beanblossom-Steenbergen Funeral Home with Rev. Nelson Chamberlin officiating, accompanist, Catherine Hardsaw. Burial in El Bethel Cemetry, Central.
Pallbearers Alfred Shickles, Carl Shickles, Wayne Shickles, William Stiles, Hershel Frakes and Paul Wiseman.
