Albert A. Yakel of Thornton, a maintenance worker, died Feb. 8 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was 58. Yakel was born March 22, 1930 in Mitchell, Neb.

Memorial services will be March 22, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Westminister. Burial will be in Fort Logan National Cemetery.

He graduated from Mead High School in 1948 and enlisted in the Navy. He worked in construction and as a machinist until 1985. His last job was at the U.S. Post Office Terminal Annex in Denver.

Survivors include his wife, Rose; a daughter, Felicia; a son, Joseph; three brothers, Harvey, Longmont, Rudolph "Ralph", Fort Collins, and Willard, Cohoew, NY.
