Bill Earl Owens passed away August 28th, 2014, at the age of 73. He was born October 4th, 1940, in Vera, Oklahoma to Ira Isaac Owens and the former Mary Ellen Bernice Clifton. He was a machinist, small business owner, and an accomplished musician.
Bill attended Vera High School where he was president of his class in his junior and senior years and graduated in 1958 as valedictorian. Bill took part in other activities including basketball, glee club, and drama club in which he played the leading role in three of his high school plays.
Bill began a career in machining at Telex in 1967 and later went on to open his own machine shop, Janko, which he named for his two children. In his spare time, he played bass guitar with a local band.
