"ROY STANSIFER JR.
"ELLETTSVILLE- Roy "Junior" Stansifer Jr., 75, of Ellettsville, died Sunday at Bloomington Hospital.
"Born Aug. 19, 1921, he was the son of Roy Stansifer Sr. and Mary (Brown) Stansifer.
"He owned and operated Stansifer Appliances and also worked at Burch Tire and Sears. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in World War II on Normandy Beach and received four bronze stars. He was a member of Clear Creek Christian Church.
"Survivors include his wife, Benita (May) Stansifer; two sons, Dennis Stansifer of Columbus and Russell Stansifer of Carthage, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.
"He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Stansifer and William Stansifer.
"Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel, with Glen Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Clear Creek Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
"Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until services Wednesday at the funeral home.
"Memorial contributions may be made to Clear Creek Christian Church Building Fund of Bloomington Hospital Cardiovascular Department."
