"Flu" Results in Two Deaths in One
Family.
The deepest clouds of sorrow are hovering over the McNair home some eight miles northeast of Osceola. The father, Paul McNair, 26 years old, succumbed to an attack of the flu last Friday. His little son, Lawrence - 4 years old - passed away yesterday about 1 o'clock a.m. little Oscar, about two years old, is in a serious condition. The mother is just recovering from a serious illness.
The McNair's are among Clarke county's most respected citizens. The mother and her remaining children have the sympathy of a host of friends.

After an illness of about two weeks, Joseph Paul McNair passed away at his home in Liberty township last Friday at the age of 26 years, 1 month, and 13 days.
He left to mourn his wife, three children, Lawrence, Oscar and Helen, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. McNair, four brothers, Robert, Theodore, Leland and an infant one, and three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Sanders, Grace and Bernice, besides other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the St. Mary church in Woodburn Monday and the body laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery near that place.

Note: Although the headstone reads, Paul J. McNair, he signed his World War I Draft registration Joseph Paul McNair. He went by the name Paul.
