Thomas "T.G." Marshall II, 76, of Charlottesville, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Martha Jefferson Hospital. Born on June 1, 1938, in Charlottesville, he was the son of the late Thomas and Eunice Marshall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Wade Marshall; a son, William "Moose" Freeman; and a brother-in-law, Charles A. Garrison. A long time car salesman, T.G. always loved a good deal. He also enjoyed NASCAR and his tropical fish tanks. More than anything, T.G. loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by four sons, Sidney Dempsey and his wife, Joni, Brent T. Marshall and his companion, Jan Beasley, Bryan P. Marshall and his wife, Tonya, and Mark A. Marshall and his wife, Shannon; four grandchildren, Brandon T. Marshall and his wife, Kanise, Bryce A. Marshall, Colleen M. Marshall, and Caden T. Marshall; his sister, Irma Gray Garrison; and many relatives and close friends. The family thanks T.G.'s good friend, George "Chick" Ackerman, for his years of assistance in caring for their dad. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Monticello Memory Gardens with the Reverend Stephen J. Mathis officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in T.G.'s memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
