Funeral services for Arthur C. Dunn, age 86, of the Centerview Community in Leon County, will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, August 30, 2014 in the New Salem Cemetery Chapel. Bro. Ray Grissett will officiate the funeral service and interment will follow in the New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29th from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Pallbearers will be James Dunn, Reece Dunn, Matthew Dunn, Kendall Dunn, Wesley Dunn, Jamie Dunn, Kaden Dunn and J.T. Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Jo Homer Holmes, Charles Barnes, Fred Wells, Ronnie Langley, A.C. Hoyt and Bobby Charanza. Arthur C. Dunn was born on March 15, 1928 in Ninevah, Texas to Arthur C. & Hermine (Nichols) Dunn and passed away on August 28, 2014 at his home in the Centerview Community. Arthur loved working on his ranch, tending to cattle, cutting hay in the tractor or whatever else may need to be done. Arthur was a lifelong resident of Leon County. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; siblings, Fannie Adelle, James Lawrence, Annie Ruth, Luther Nichols, Lula Jerrine, Fannie Elizabeth and Olive Norine and an infant son, Lawrence Ray Dunn. Surviving family members include his wife of sixty-six years, Lela "Christine" (Rodell) Dunn of the Centerview Community; daughter, Cathy Dunn Charanza & husband, Bobby, of Leona; son, James Dunn & wife, Diane, of Centerville; grandchildren, Reece Dunn (Jessica) of Pilot Point, Hope Knight of Centerville, Kelli Knight Franklin (Clint) of Crestview, FL, Angie Dunn Guidry (Lee) of Waxahachie, Wesley Dunn (Susan) of Centerville, Matthew Dunn (Jennifer) of Spring, Jamie Dunn (Courtney) of Normangee, J.T. Mitchell (Amanda) of Huntsville, Coty Mitchell & fiancée, Robert Arellano of Hilltop Lakes, Tim Charanza (Celeste) of Centerville, John Charanza (Kelly) of Highlands and Chris Charanza (Danielle) of Leona. Arthur is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
