Andy was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Republic, Pennsylvania, a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired locomotive crane operator from Hillman Barge Company, Brownsville, Pa. and a member of the Penncraft Community Association. He was preceded in death by brothers John and George Balog and his parents.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-six years, Virginia Shaw Balog; children: Joseph Balog and wife Betty of Penncraft, Pennsylvania, Elizabeth Marucci and husband Negie of Republic, Pennsylvania, Diane Swartz and husband Harry of Penncraft, Pennsylvania and Andrea Mapstone and husband Gary of Penncraft, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister Rose Marie Hands of Cuyoga Falls, Ohio and a brother Steve Balog of Avon, Ohio.
Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME when a Service will be held with Pastor John Thomas officiating. A Prayer Service will be held followed by a Funeral Mass with Rev. Fr. William C. McGuirk as Celebrant.
Entombment will be at later date at Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at LaFayette Memorial Park. Military Rites will be accorded after Mass with Hopwood AMVETS Post 103.
