Graveside services for Mary W. Lambert, 86, of Abernathy were held at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. John Lowrie officiating.

Mrs. Lambert died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, in Lubbock. She was born Dec. 31, 1917, in Canton, Texas. She married John Herman Lambert, Aug. 25, 1934, in Canton. He preceded her in death April 4, 1984. They came to Abernathy in 1936 where they raised their four sons. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gary Lambert, Jan. 8, 1975.

She is survived by three sons, LaDoyce Lambert and wife Gloria of Odessa, Sherrell Lambert and wife Robbie of Lubbock, and Dick Lambert, also of Lubbock; and a brother, Morgan Douthit of Mexia, Texas; three grandchildren, Rick Lambert of Garland, Sebrina Carroll of Lubbock, and Amy Lambert of Odessa; and four great-grandchildren, Rich and Amber Carroll, Michael and Sar a Lambert.
